Trip to Beryl's Chocolate Factory
On August 17, students of the March 2019 intake went on a field trip to Beryl’s Chocolate Factory. It was organised to reinforce concepts learnt in the classroom like market structures.
The tour began with an introductory video of the factory followed by a brief introduction of the types of chocolates produced, the health benefits of different chocolates and a history of Beryl’s Chocolate. We were given free chocolates to sample and some time was allocated for us to buy the different types of Beryl’s chocolates.
The second destination in our field trip was the Beriette Confectionary, the sister company of Beryl’s Chocolate. Our tour began with an introductory video of Beriette like its history and the types of pastries produced. The tour guide then explained how the factory operates as she showed us around. At the end of the tour, we were taken to the factory’s retail outlet. It was an enjoyable and fruitful learning experience for us.
