Stock Trading Stimulation
The Stock Trading Simulation Workshop, a collaboration between Taylor’s University and Taylor’s College, was organised by the Economics Department of the SACE International Programme on 9 August. The facilitator was Mohsin Ali, a Senior Lecturer in the Taylor’s University Business School. This unique learning strategy encourages the learning of businesses, markets and stock trading beyond the traditional classroom setting. The objectives of this workshop were to expose and provide real world experience on business investment and trading. It also aimed to create an avenue for prudent processes in investment decision-making and risk management as well as foster critical thinking and problem solving skills among students.
Approximately 130 Economics students of the Aug 2018, January 2019 and March 2019 attended this hour and a half hour long workshop. Dr. Mohsin Ali gave a briefing on the stock market, and introduced students to the fundamentals and mechanics of stock investing and stock trading. He also briefed students on how to make successful trades. The students obtained knowledge about stock trading using a real time business investment and trading platform called ‘Introducing BURSA Anywhere mobile.’
